It meets a number of times a year. Task teams are entrusted with implementing its diverse projects. The Conseil is a non-profit organization funded by the activities it organizes and by outside grants. The Practice Enhancement Division of the Collège des médecins du Québec ensures the Conseil's permanent secretariat.
