PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES

Exchanges and consensus-development

Organizations interested in CPD in Québec only stand to benefit from consistent policies. They have thus developed consensus on the following questions:
  • accreditation criteria for an organization in CPD;
  • criteria for awarding attestations of participation in a CPD activity;
  • content of attestations of participation in a CPD activity;
  • criteria for a high-calibre publication in CPD;
  • relations between medical organizations and commercial corporations;
  • form for disclosing potential conflicts of interest.
PUBLICATIONS AND DIRECTORIES

L'Organisateur de DPC
This newsletter is designed for CPD organizers in all Québec organizations interested in continuous professional development. It provides them with a training and information tool.

The Vade-mecum en EMC
This publication describes the steps to follow in organizing educational activities, so as to ensure effectiveness while respecting current principles of education and good administrative practice.

The Code of Ethics for parties involved in Continuing Medical Education
This ethical guide on relations between medical organizations and commercial corporations specifies a framework for a healthy support relationship in CPD, outlining the main principles that should guide all aspects of organizing an activity.

The Annuaire des organisateurs de DPC
The Conseil keeps an up-to-date list of CPD organizations in Québec along with contacts for each of the Conseil's member organizations.

The Répertoire des activités éducatives
The Répertoire describes CPD activities offered by the Conseil's member organizations. Regularly updated and available on the Conseil's web site, it helps physicians plan their individual and collective professional development activities.
TRAINING CPD ORGANIZERS

In addition to these publications, the Conseil offers the following training activities:

"Better organized, more efficient"
This is an intensive training programme with various modules on the use of a methodical approach in CPD. It is available on request and can be adapted to participants' needs.

The Colloques du Conseil
The Conseil regularly organizes provincial seminars in CPD. These training seminars for organizers, speakers and facilitators focus on topics of importance in developing high-quality CPD.
